VDB at Spring Festivals 2023

We are thrilled to participate in numerous festivals this spring! VDB Director Tom Colley will be in attendance at both the 69th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen and the 36th European Media Art Festival (EMAF) from April 20 - May 2, 2023. 

At EMAF, VDB artists Laura Huertas Millán (El Laberinto, 2018), Deborah Stratman (Last Things, 2023), Kevin Jerome Everson (If You Don’t Watch the Way You Move, 2023), Filipa César and Sónia Vaz Borges (Mangrove School, 2022) will present their works. Mangrove School and If You Don’t Watch the Way You Move will take part in the International Competition. Festival dates: April 19 - May 29, 2023.

At Oberhausen, VDB will present works by Jessica Bardsley, Stephanie Barber, Sarah Friedland, and Dani & Sheilah ReStack as part of the VDB Distributors' Screening taking place April 30. A screening of Harun Farocki's Parallel I is also included in the festival program 'Unlock the Reel'. Festival dates: April 26 - May 1, 2023. 

 At Prismatic Ground, Jim Finn's The Apocalyptic is the Mother of All Christian Theology (2023) will have its US premiere on Saturday, May 6 at 7:00 PM EST at Light Industry, followed by Q&A. Susan Youssef's LANA will have its world premiere at the festival at Anthology Film Archives on Sunday, May 7 at 10:00 AM EST! Festival dates: May 3 - 7, 2023.
