GUMMI International
GUMMI international appeared for the first time in the '90s at the end of a couple of experimental shorts. Starting in 2004, it produced two conceptual DVDs for the German electro pop performer Torsten Kretchzmar. The first DVD released in 2005 was called Torsten Kretchzmar--Entschlossenheit, containing a graphics heavy music video, an animation clip based on the drawings by Kota Ezawa, and a documentary style portrait of the performer. Torsten Kretchzmar--I Know What Girls Like followed in 2007 with a variety of music video style shorts. In 2009 GUMMI international presented a small DVD collection that is a collaboration with multiple artists. It features three music videos: Freddy McGuire--Lottery Ticket, a performance syle music video, aided by the burlesque dance group Fou Fou Ha!; Dusule--Solid, a slow ballad visualized in a narrative story that relies on visual effects; and Bang! Bang! Lynda Benglis, a song by the San Franciscan Band, The Size of Queens. It has an improvised look, showing GI's favorite Torsten Kretchzmar throwing a brunch, desperately protecting Lynda's picture hanging on his fridge.
